4th AL Cav. Co.E(Roddey's)

I reenact mounted cavalry portraying a trooper in Roddey's command. I am satisfied with most of my impression, with the exception of my "uniform". Can anyone tell me what type of uniform(or the lack thereof)the 4th most likely would've worn at ANY point. I have found reference to the "clothing of the men being neat and uniform" at the time of inspection on April 2, 1863, but no details of what that uniform may have looked like. I have also found reference to the 4th AL Cav. being dressed in gray with yellow trim(!) as detailed in the diaries of Capt. Frank Gurley,C.S.A., so it seems that the jacket considered "farby" in reenacting circles MAY have existed after all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.-Charles
