Capt. Hardman's letters don't provide detail for activities in the Tennessee Valley. Livingstons' (Chandler's) Battalion included five companies with three more detached which joined later. Colvin's 6th Alabama included at least ten companies, probably eleven. The extra company could be Clanton's Battery.
Reports from the April 1864 don't tell us much about Clanton's activities. I've always wondered why no Federal reports mention the skirmish at Woodall's Bridge. At the time Roddey's command provided much on the pressure on Federal pickets in Decatur.
