Thanks for replying to my message. I only wanted to try to locate the document where Sgt. White's commanding officer submitted his promotion and to find out what this brave soldier did that day on the battlefield. Someone other than his commanding officer signed off on this paper and I just wanted to read it. He must have been outstanding to get promoted from Sgt. to 2nd Lt. I know he was from Barbour county, Alabama and I do not know if he has a Confederate monument or not, but I hope he does. This is the same county that General H.D. Clayton was from.
