Re: Sgt. William J. White,39th Alabama Infantry

Hi. Lt. William J. White was my wife's great grandfathers. My wife's name is Christy Eubanks Laramore. She is kin to William J. White through her grandmother (White - Morrow) on her mother's side. We have a few records from ancestry.com but are still searching for more. Anything you have would be greatly appreciated. We do know where William White is buried. It is not in Barbour county. He is actually buried in Coffee County. In his later years, Lt. White founded the "Whitewater Baptist Church" located North of Elba, AL and was ordained "Reverand" there. He is buried in "Whitewater Baptist Church" Cemetery directly next to the church. He has a huge grave marker, but nothing stating his specific military information. I am in the process of submitting a request to the local Sons of Confederate Veterans to have a dedication and military marker placed on his grave. Any information you have would be appreciated. In turn we could swap notes. Thanks.
