Thanks George, I appreciate you making me aware of these filings. I am still a bit puzzled by his capture though. The day after the Battle of the Monocacy. Alan seems to think he was not yet joined with his outfit( probably right). I think he could have been a straggler after the battle having read how Hunters cavalry harrassed the troops in their march on that hot Sunday of July 10th. I am also wondering if perhaps he could have been wounded and left behind, and was thus captured. In Lee's Lieutenants, there is mention of about 400 or more wounded Confederates left in Frederick, that were captured by Hunter's forces. I am just trying to fill in the pieces.
