Weapons and Uniforms of 5th Alabama Infantry RGT

I am trying to find out what the most likely EARLY WAR (May 1861-Feb. 1862) weapons of Company K, 5th Alabama Infantry RGT were. So far, my research has indicated the 1842 Springfield or the 1841 US (also celled the Mississippi rifle). Also, were any of the rifled 1842 Springfields in this unit, or were they all smoothbore? On the second note, all my research has pointed to this period's uniform as being medium grey shell jacket (Richmond III that is converted into the early war with French blue point cuffs and collar), with matching trousers, and AVC buttons with the Alabama seal buckle. Anyone having any confirmation or refuting research results?
