5th Alabama Battalion(s)

There were two 5th Battalions, one only breifly which became the 9th Battalion, subsequently becoming the 58th Alabama. The "other 5th" that became the 9th was commanded by Rober P. Blount formerly a captain of the Sumter Rifle Guards which became company F. of the 5th Alabama infantry, I believe. I am looking for any information I can find on him. He was relieved of command for disobeying orders at Shiloh and his 9th battalion was dispersed between the 17th and 18th Alabama infantry regiments. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I found a reference to a Robert Blount in command of an obscure outpost near Tallahassee, Florida later in the war. I wonder if it is the same man. As I posted before on here somewhere I am doing research on the 58th Alabama. Thanks in advance for any replies.
