Re: Arkansas Union Monuments?
In Response To: Arkansas Union Monuments? ()

Up on top of the hill in Little Rock's National Cemetery is a very nice monument placed by the State of Minnesota in honor of Minnesota's boys in blue who served and sometimes died in Arkansaw.

So yeah... there's at least one monument here. The trend nowadays is to put up markers commemorating particular events rather than a specific unit or side. But the "Confederization" of the monuments around the courthouses in Arkansas and many other southern states (and many of the border states) positively prove that while the Boys in Blue decisively won The War, the Congress just as effectively lost that hard-won peace with the enactment of congressional Reconstruction.
