Huntersville? I had not considered the possibility that my copy of the roll (a transcription of the original) might have a transcription error -- Huntsville instead of Huntersville. That would certainly solve my dilemma over why some men were reported to have died at "Huntsville" in Madison County, while the regiment was down in Pulaski County. I just figured that those men had been left behind when the regiment moved south.
