Re: Joel F. Shrum
In Response To: Re: Joel F. Shrum ()

My copy of information from Goverment War records show Asa Joyner Shrum died June 1864 at Camp Huntswell,Ark.(Littlerock could have been Camp Huntswell, and there is a Town close to Missouri in Ark by the name of Huntswell.Asas Wife reported he died in Little Rock Ark and is buried at the National Cemetary there. Also about trying to prove who is actually buried in Plot 890,as to where it is Asa OR Joel, is there any way we can find out when they started burying people in that section of the Cemetary. The location is just as you enter main gate to the right of building and up a small hill.If they started burying soldiers there in mid 1800s, then chanchs are Asa is buried there and if they didnt open up the site until 1900s then its likey Joel is buried there.Just a thought as to how we might find out. Thanks Louann
