Compatriots,

The state of Wisconsin has graciously returned the flag picked up from the field at Jenkins' Ferry by the 9th Wisconsin Infantry to the ARkansas National Guard Museum at Camp Robinson. The flag arrived in a box where it had literally been stuffed back in the late 40's. It is in pieces, some large and some small. We will be sending it to professional flag conservator soon to get estimates on its repair, conservation and display costs. This flag was from one of the Arkansas regiments that took cover in the swale in the Cooper field. IT is a Second National variant. I can forward a photo of it to any interested parties. Thought folks might want to know that we have brought another one home for good no matter what shape it is in!!!
