Somewhere in this rat's nest I laughingly refer to as my files, I have a copy of a letter from a member of the 27th Arkansas which mentions the Missouri colors carried by the regiment. As I recall, the writer said he and his messmates were angry about having Missouri colors imposed on an Arkansas regiment by its Missouri commander. He fussed about this through half of the letter before turning to family matters.
