And another thing...

Bill,

I've been thinking of writing you lately and telling you again, how much I've enjoyed "Pea Ridge; Civil War Campaign in the West". I've read it cover to cover twice, use it continually for reference and just within the last two weeks have read the first part of the book again comparing it with Anderson's "First Missouri Confederate Brigade" of the period leading up to the battle to compare his "memory-based" account to your professionally researched account of the same period.

You and Dr. Hess did an outstanding job with this book, my favorite on any Trans-Mississippi battle/campaign and one of my top two or three favorites for any Civil War battle/campaign history. I can't tell you how much I look forward to the release of your next project, Prairie Grove.

BTW, I understand Dr. Hess has just completed a book on the last days at Petersburg and/or the Appomattox campaign. I'm sure to add that one to my library.
