Hello. I have just today learned that William H. Fisher, who my gg aunt Quillen Harper Fisher
(B. Tenn. d. 1930 in Arkansas) married in White County, had ridden with the 47th Cav.
I checked the Gerdes site and it says he was a "conscript."
My friend was searching through the pension book today when she found an application that was granted
for this man's service. Apparently, Wm. H. Fisher had died on Jan. 27, 1898. Quillen Fisher had applied for
a pension in 1905. How much would she have drawn?
I am of the opinion that this 47th Cav. rode into Kansas with Price. Did they have any other purpose or take
part in any more action? As Wm. H. Fisher was a conscript, had he previously served some place else?
My interest in this man is motivated by a contact I have had only within the last month with his
ggg grandchildren in California. His married daughter Florence died unexpectedly (we think her husband killed her)
in 1916 leaving three children who were put out for adoption.
Since my long lost cousin found me, I have been searching everywhere for information.
