Linda, I forgot to mention that the county of origin information I post is based on the counties which existed during the Civil War. That's how the companies were reported at the time. If I know for certain which portion of a county was the source of recruits, I post that, e.g., "that portion of Prairie County now in Lonoke County." But if I were to post something like, "The company was recruited in Lonoke County," someone would invariably respond, "You moron, Lonoke County didn't exist during the Civil War."

Anyway, in the case of Lonoke County CW veterans, researchers should pay particular attention to companies organized in its two parent counties, Prairie and Pulaski, and, to a lesser extent, to neighboring White County.
