Thomas J. Miller, Benton-more questions

Hello. I will probably just muddy up the water with my following questions, but I am going to
ask anyway. I have tried to ask about a man being hung before and was told it did not happen
in this area.
My oral family history says that Lt. Fielding Price, 1st Arkansas Cav. was treated better than his
neighbor/friend/someone because the Yankees only took him off to prison while they hung this other person.
Of course, Price died of the smallpox on Feb. 1, 1865. Then his wife got beat out of every penny she could
raise because a Yankee soldier told her that she could buy Fielding out of prison, so she sold everything
she had. But of course Fielding Price was already dead. There she was with a baby coming in the next
month, flat broke, and a house full of kids and others depending on her.
This all happened in White County and everyone I have ever met that descends
from these people tell the same sad story.
Were these men connected in any way to Dobbins and the 1st Arkansas Cav. ?
Did anyone check to see if any of this is listed in the book, Rebel's Hell?
Thanks for any consideration and assistance in answering these questions.
Linda
