Re: 10th Arkansas Militia -- George Grandv'l Dunn

Dear Bob,

Thank you so much for all the information you posted. It has been a real find in my geneology search and fills in some very pertinent information that was lost forever. I will confirm some things for you as well. Not much but a bit of help in filling in a few cracks in what you have. First, "J.I." stands for Joemma Isabell and she was my grandmother on my father's side of my family. "NJ" is, in fact, Nancy Jane Walton. My uncle Joe D. Hall, deceased, of Neboville, Tennessee spoke often of "Aunt Nancy Jane", so I'm dead sure that you are right on on that name. He also spoke frequently of Aunt Mary, so the whole thing fits like a piece in a puzzle that was lost. I also am "fairly sure" I remember talk when I was young about "Hethy", but I don't remember Sinthia at all. The father of Minerva's grandchildren was Will D. Travis of Dyer, Tennessee. (Yes, before you ask, he was related to the Alamo Travis in Texas, but I don't remember exactly how. Perhaps a grandson.)

My best and thank you very, very much.

Say, did you say what unit he joined in the U.S. army? I'm gonna look back in the record and see. I don't recall that you did, but I shant bug you any more.

Many, many thanks.

Clay Hall
