As it goes most time, when you live within the historical part of a place, you tend to take
it for granted. I know that there have been at least two men with the last
being known for his appearances in parades as Robert E. Lee who took a serious
interest in what is known in Lonoke County as Camp Nelson.
No telling how much has been lost in Lonoke County alone. I am a member of the Lonoke
County Museum and each one of us has some sort of sad tale to tell.
Then you get into this deal of people instead of working together try to out do one
another and that in itself does not speak well for anyone.
My personal opinion is that a little Christian kindness and Southern good
charm would have helped.
Thanks for an interesting story.
