If I can add my two cents worth. I certainly hope it can be done. A few years ago while assisting the TSLA with indexing their Tn. Adj. Gen. Records I found a ledger kept by the Chief Surgeon of Gen. Clayton's Division ( Surgeon G.B. Thornton) for the entire war and after. It had morning reports, casuality lists, etc. It even had a listing by name and regiment of the wounds suffered by Clayton's Division at Franklin (yes, there were a few in Stovall's Brigade) and a full listing for Nashville.
It had been misfiled decades ago as part aof the Federal Tenn. Adj. Gen. Records instead of being sent North to D.C. when the OR's were being compiled. (By the way, Tennessee never got any of those records returned from D.C.) I have the Record Group and ac. number if this project is a go. Tim Burgess
