Hey, Alan. New Year's greetings from the Colonies.

I am uncertain about the identity of Benjamin Franklin Lowe. He doesn't appear in the 1860 census of Ashley County, Arkansas (where his company was raised), nor in the surrounding counties. His end-of-war parole gives a physical description, but no age or birthplace. His service record includes an inquiry from the Texas Pension Board, seeking confirmation of his service in the 3rd Arkansas Infantry, so he apparently moved to Texas after the war and applied for a Confederate pension there. A man by that name applied for a pension from Tarrant County, Texas, but I don't know which regiment he served in.

A Lowe family researcher believes that a man buried in Parker County, Texas (adjacent to Tarrant County) is our Benjamin Franklin Lowe. If correct, he was born 1839 in Tennessee and died 1891 in Texas. I haven't had time to check this out yet, so I have no opinion as to its accuracy at this time.

If someone else has any ideas, please pitch in and help us out.
