Hey Damon,
Here's the text of that resolution of the 1st Arkansas, Arks Army. I haven't checked the rosters of the different officers to make sure I transcribed their names right, but I know that Cleburne's right and spelled as it is below:
Camp Rector
May 17th 1861
Resolution of the Officers & Men of the 1st Regiment of Arks Army
Resolved that during the time the forces at Camp Rector were assembled at that point under the command of Genl. D. McRae his uniform kindness and urbanity has endeared him to both officers and men and that any eloquence we could indite would but faintly express our high sense of his qualities as a soldier and gentleman and assure him that although our war path may be separate we can never forget our obligations to him.
Resolved 2nd
That while we sincerely regret the necessity that removes Genl. McRae from this command we reluctantly yield to circumstances over which we had no control.
3
That Captain Cowley Green be entrusted to wait upon Genl. McRae with a copy of the above resolutions and cause the same to be published in the Memphis Avalanche.
Signed on behalf of the ourselves & the men under our command.
