Interesting that he was a general and became a major and later LTC afterwards, led his troops at Wilson's Creek etc. I have a photo of him in uniform. Wish I had one for BG Holt. I know that the buttons off his coat were removed before he was buried after being killed, but the family only has the envelope that states it held the buttons...they have disappeared. But they do have the original muster rolls of 5 companies of the 11th Arkansas Infantry as filled out at Benton in July 1861. Wished we could get those back!!!
