There is a book called Rebel's Hell that you may be able to get on interlibrary loan.
It's source is from the National Archives and is about the "Yankee Prison" in Little Rock.
It was where the state capitol is located now. Many people have no idea it ever existed.
My ancestor, Lt. Fielding Price of the 1st Arkansas CSA, was there at the same time, but took
the smallpox and died on Feb.1, 1865.
Your ancestor was very fortunate to have survived being captured and held in the prison.
It is possible that you will find something about the trip north in your 1889 Goodspeeds which was
book that you paid to have you information placed in. It will depend on whatever county the man was
residing in at the time. Most of those who rode with Price took great pride in that fact.
