The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Re: James Beard Of McGehee's Calvary

Thank you so much for the information, i will try to get a hold of the book you mentioned. Can you tell me any more on what the 1889 Godspeeds is? Was it a book that former soldiers could have information placed in? Is it still available in some form?

My son and I have greatly enjoyed our Civil War studies so far. Having grown up in Michigan(My husband is from Arkansas), I grew up with a very different education in the Civil War. Now, living in the south, I want my son to see the war from all sides, and we are both learning so much. Having an ancestor to study has really given him a connection with what we have been reading.

Thank you again for your help, I am so glad we stumbled on to this message board.
