I can attest that there were casualties in the Saline County Company Co A as well. But there are no names. For some, that present for duty was the last mention of them, they do not return home and there is no list of the dead. I know that many died right there in front of Beaver Dam Creek at Mechanicsville, where Bronaugh died. I know it is stated that only 42 replied to the roll after that battle from the entire battalion. Then look at the men who were discharged in July 62 at Camp Lee, many of them were the wounded. they were discharged due to being medically unfit. While some were probably sick, I have found some with info that relate to amputations from those battles etc. I sure wish they had been able to keep a better casualty list for them. Probably what would need to be done is take the original roster, make another roster of those who were transferred to Co I and Co F of the 3rd Ark and you can see who is missing. Then take those who were discharged immediately upon being transferred and there are some wounded there as well. Its not exact without further documentation but it is the best "snapshot" of results of those battles. I think they fought Beaver Dam Creek and Gaines Mill and were probably present with their brigade and division in the others.
