I guess I thought we were talking about the 7 Days battles when they were under Pender. My mistake and I should have read what you were asking about a little better. Guess they got shifted, but its strange they would be separated from their old comrades of the 22 NC and then shifted back to their brigade. But being in the military I can see how units are moved at a whim or with wrangling of commanders and that it was probably no different back then, We had one of our companies removed from us in Iraq but the commander kept requesting its return from the regular Army brigade commander we were assigned to and we got it back within a month of arriving there.
