Thank you so much - guess George's record of death wasn't recorded except in family documents. His wife and children went back to Memphis which was where they lived before moving to Arkansas. She never remarried. Two more brothers died as young adults from an epidemic in Memphis. Griffin was in law school when he enlisted - very sad! I have a great account of Griffin's heroism at Port Gibson, May 1863, from the War of the Rebellion series where he was seriously wounded - wish he'd gotten to go home so he never would have been at Franklin! If interested in this account for your records just let me know.
