Maj Genl Hindman directs that you order that commanding officer of [William E.] Woodruff�s Battery to precede at once, with his company to Austin, Arks, and there report to Col D. [Dandridge] McRae, Comd�g McRae�s brigade, to accompany his command in the march to Elk Horn, Arks.

General: Your dispatch of 7 oclk pm of this date, is this moment received. Instruct the draughtsman to await me, at McGuires. We move for that point at 7 oclk in the morning, carrying [Charles A.] Carroll�s & [Dandridge] McRae�s infantry brigades, and [William E.] Woodruff�s, [Henry C.] West�s, and [Westley] Robert�s batteries. Col Carroll with his regiment of cavalry and shoup�s mountain battery has been ordered to Huntsville.
