Actually we had 11 Henrys at Frankin and 6 Sharps and Target rifles in our company. While we were on the Federal left on Saturday we fell back in the trenches. The men with the henrys took it easy and sat back not firing. We were being advanced upon by dismounted Reb cavalry. the Sharps and target rifles fired away at a Reb force that outnumber us probably 2 or 3 to 1. The great thing was they just kept coming. inally when the dismounts were only about 40 yards away our captain brought us Henry shooters into line. Upon command we unleashed our fire upon the unsuspecting Rebs. They didn't have a clue what had just hit them. They just melted into the ground and a few turned and ran. The 11 Henrys fired 2 magazine full each at the Rebs. Each Henry held 16 rounds and emptied twice. The firepower was super.
