.. We all live and learn... sometimes we find the diamond... sometimes its just a lump of coal. Wish I could provide brighter news about it, but just being honest. Confederate edged weapons have long been a collectors favorite. Many micro detailed books have been published over the decades about all the different makers and models produced. I rechecked my library, and Rotherwood isnt mentioned in any of them. I was one of the guys that collectors and museums would inquire to identify and/or authenticate various items. So I have lots of reference resources about many items of the era, and a network of other historians to consult if needed. I hate to see anyone get "taken" by misrepresented, fraudulent or fake items being presented as the real deal, especially when there are people behind the counter at such places that should know, and should know better. I hope you didnt pay too much for it.

What type or model is this sword in question do you have?.
