Your years of resident in Ohio has put a slight hollow in your taste buds. In Cincinnati & Cleveland the so called BBQ places serve up Carolina style BBQ, I didn’t see a Tennessee style BBQ served anywhere. I was up in Pittsburgh, Carolina style BBQ and in New York and Massachusetts, Carolina style BBQ, whats up? Oh, I had to burn my boots before I could reenter Dixie, to get that yankee dirt off. :)
Blues, Booze & BBQ shindigs and fancy restaurant’s in Memphis ain’t real BBQ, if you have to smother it with sauce, good eats but not true old Carolina BBQ. Slow cooked pig over hickory wood, only Carolina BBQ. No chicken, sheep, turkey or dead cow, only slow cooked pig is BBQ.
Tennessee, the lost child of North Carolina. Tennessee, were Davy’s slow cooked black bear is called BBQ, GOOD GRIEF!
Stick to flags and leave the BBQ pig to the professionals! :)
