Hello Tom,

We were last in NC two years ago and had a wonderful time. It was October, the leaves were in full colour, and we had 5 straight days of rain up in the mountains. LOL October, however, is the time to see NC.

When I mentioned this thread to my wife she figured it would be a good idea to head east again next year. The idea of a BBQ and flag summit sounds like it would be great, although my wife cringes at what she calls "more stuff about flags again". But for all the times I have been in NC I have yet to visit Bentonville, so this gives me another reason to head into the Piedmont.

I'm not going to be so foolhardy as to take sides in the BBQ debate. I go under the philosophy that there is no such thing as bad BBQ and each region has its unique qualities. Just as whether its an ANV 2nd Bunting Issue, a 1st Pattern Hardee flag, or an early war presentation First National, they all have my attention. (Hows that for drawing this thread appropriate to the messabe board?)
