The General Barton And Stovall's Brigade History & Heritage Association is devoted to the research of the 40th, 41st, 42nd, 43rd & 52nd Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiments. These regiments were brigaded under Generals Seth M. Barton and Marcellus Stovall for most of the war. Our founding president, Gary R. Goodson, is the author of the Georgia Confederate 7,000 book series. Gary's books contain a detailed history of Barton's and Stovall's Brigades. The books can be ordered from Gary Goodson through the GBSHHA website. Membership is open to descendents of the soldiers in the above mentioned regiments and persons with historical interests. Our next annual meeting will be at Dalton, GA over Labor Day Weekend 2005. We will be touring battle and campaign sites important to the history of Stovall's Brigade in the 1863 Chattanooga Campaign.
