In Response To: 26th Ga Inf, Twiggs County ()

I am confused. John Barrett Everett is my Great Grandfather and was in I Company of the 6th Ga, not the 26th GA. He is buried just off the Old Macon Cochranton Rd about 1-2 miles east of the intersection of this road and the road to Jeffersonville. This is the Old Bullard Crossing. I stopped there in April of 2006 and searched for his grave but could not find it. A cousin visited the grave some years ago and had photographed it. I have a copy of the photographs. There is one marker, a column about 4-5 feet high. My father, John E. Everett Sr, grew up on the Bullard Everett Farm what is now the Roselane Plantation. We, my wife and I have visited there several times in the past year. We stopped there this year after looking for J B Everett's grave. As a sideline, two of my ancesters on my Mothers side were in the 27th Georgia from Griffin. They were in the Battle at Golden Pond with the 6th Gerogia.
