"It's a very interesting account, including a detailed description of the prison camp at Point Lookout and a school/library started there for the prisoners by a fellow inmate, Alonzo Morgan of Sumter, South Carolina."

It would be very interesting to hear about Pt. Lookout. My Great Uncle, Alexander N. Boring, 4th Sgt., Co. A, 18th Ga. Infantry, ANV, was captured at Cedar Creek October 19, 1864, and finished the war at Point Lookout. He was paroled in June, 1865. His brother, Francis, Pvt., Co. A, was captured in July 1864, in Roswell, Georgia, while on recuperative leave from a wound suffered in May at Spotsylvania. He spent the balance of the war at the infamous Camp Douglas. He said he contracted rheumatism from exposure there, according to his pension records. He also was paroled in June. They both walked home. Stan
