"final moments of Gen. Barksdale in silent prayer just before the charge commenced, as Wofford's brigade was in line in their rear." My GGF and two great uncles were in Wofford's Brigade, having been in his regiment from the start. They chased some of those zouaves at 2nd. Manassas. Until after Antietam, the 18th Georgia was in the Texas Brigade, commanded by Wofford at Antietam. They fought in the Cornfield, losing almost as many men as the 1st Texas. Assigned to Cobb's Brigade in November 1862, they were behind the Stone Wall at Fredericksburg. When Cobb was killed, The Brigade became Wofford's, and he was promoted to Brigadier. At Chancellorsville the brigade was at Salem Church. You know they were in the wheatfield, behind Barksdale, the seond day at Gettysburg. Mr. Sutton was in a lot of the same places. He covereed a lot in those 78 pages. Thanks for posting so much from it. I'll check out the prisons board. Stan
