I would be happy to work with you on Bowen Family information. Nicholas Bowen's daughter Ada was one of my great grandmothers on my father's side of the family. Her mother, Martha Garrett Bowen had two brothers who died in the war and one who was captured and paroled. They were all members of Company K, 31st GA Volunteer Infantry Regiment, "Bartow Avengers" of Terrell County, GA.

Garrett, James--3d Corporal Sept. 5, 1861. Died of fever and measles at White Sulphur Springs, Va. Dec. 13, 1861.

Garrett, John Manning--Private Sept. 5, 1861. Captured at Strasburg, Va. Sept. 23, 1864. Paroled at Point Lookout, Md. Mar. 1865. Exchanged at Aiken's Landing, Va. Mar. 17, 1865. (Born in Terrell County, Ga. in 1842. Died in 1922.)

Garrett, Thomas Jefferson.--Private July 23, 1863. Captured at Spotsylvania, Va. May 12, 1864. Died of pneumonia at Fort Delaware, Del. Dec. 21, 1864. Buried on Jersey shore.

Bowen, Benjamin C. Private March 4, 1862. Surrendered, Appomattox, VA April 9, 1865.

Bowen, Lumpkin Private February 22, 1862. Wounded at 2nd Manassas, VA August 30, 1862.
Appointed 1st Sergeant July 2, 1863. Surrendered, Appomattox, VA April 9, 1865.

Bowen, Nicholas M. Private May 6, 1862. Surrendered, Appomattox, VA April 9, 1865.

Bowen, William S. Private May 6, 1862. Surrendered, Appomattox, VA April 9, 1865.
(Born in Baker County, GA April 21, 1838.)
