Gary,

My gg-granduncle was an Alston Hunter Green(e) Howell or A.H.G. Howell. I have his CMSR. He was a private in the 5th Georgia and served from its organization to its surrender.

I descend from an Isaac Howell whose farm was located at the current site of Six Flags over Georgia. His oldest son, David Holton Howell was my gg-grandfather and a judge in Polk County, AR during the war. Most of David's younger brothers, at least four of them, were Confederate soldiers from Georgia.

Jim
