The Indian Territory in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Comanches allied to Confederacy

I'm uncertain of the author after the passage of 7 years. The letter was part of the Archive's collection that I was going through to create a bibliographic work of the Civil War material housed there. I'm unsure if anyone has picked this up and completed the work, since in the month I was there I was only able to go through the archival boxes and there was still several records to go through. The notes that I left with them were in my chicken scratch so I'm unsure if any of that would be used or if they would start anew. I can't recall when the letter was written or the validity of the author's statement and I am going to admit with the passage of time I may be incorrect as to the identity of the group that threatened to flee the sound of the Union Cherokee's gobble.
