I am glad to communicate with someone that is a descendent of the 3rd Mounted Infantry Regiment of Kentucky.

My grandfather ( my namesake was born in the year 1854) he
had brothers and cousins in the 3rd Mounted Infantry regiment of kentucky. I made a survey of the Busharts from Hickman, Kenbtucky and Tennessee. My dad was from Hickman and I made the survey in his honor. My reports are at the Hickman Library, Historical Society of kentucky and the Fulton, Kentucky Library. The entire wartime travels of the 3rd after they transferred to the Forrest Cavalry Corps is in the book entitled " the Campigns of General Nathan Bedford Forrest" and is available. Repport copies of my survey are available at the above libraries. Hope you can reach these materials as the 3rd was involved heavily in the history of this country. The roster are available n the Internet by simply dialing in to the rosters of the 3rd Mounted Infantry regiment of kentucky.
Note the company, if you have it, Busharts were Company "L"
