Davis, David L.: Pvt.; age 22, enlisted 7/5/61 at Camp Boone, TN; on 10/1/61—1/1/62 Muster Roll listed as absent, in Hospital at Bowling Green, KY; captured POW at Champions Hill, MS 5/17/63; POW sent to Memphis, TN 5/25/63; POW near Vicksburg, MS, forwarded to Memphis, TN 6/9/63; POW at Vicksburg, MS, sent to Memphis, TN 6/12/63; POW received at Memphis, TN 6/15/63; POW at Memphis, TN, sent North 6/16/63; POW received at Military Prison, Alton, IL 6/20/63; POW at Military Prison, Alton, IL, discharged / released 7/20/63 on taking the Oath; NFR until on May/June 1864 Muster Roll listed as absent, captured at Mechanicsburg, MS 6/3/63 and has since taken the Oath to the Lincoln Govt. and is now living in KY.
I would appreciate any information on his dates and places of birth, death and burial, the complete names of his parents and wife, and I would like to get a photograph of him. I am working on compiling the records of all the Confederate units from the Jackson Purchase of Kentucky.
