Re: Munfordville KY Civil War sites....

Thanks to David Bush
I have printed off the very detailed information and first hand accounts of the battle you have posted for my genealogy research. My great grandfather Charles Postell Kiker was a private in Co. G, 3rd Ga Cavalry of the Confederate Army. He and his brother William were taken prisoner by Union Forces on Sept 20, 1862 at Munfordsville, Ky according to their war records at the Ga. state archives. They were released on oath April 8, 1864. As you seem to be very familiar with civil war sources, are there any accounts from the CSA side, do you know where the prisoners would have been held for two years, is it strange that they would have been captured & held at what appears to be a confederate victory by surrender? It would appear they were captured at a skirmish after the major battle based on your listing of dates-- any other info or suggestions you might have would be appreciated.
I notice on the Battle of Munfordville site that all cavalry
are listed as"Scott's Cavalry" -- would this include the 3rd
GA calvary?
Many thanks, Sally Kiker Zwadyk
