I am trying to find records for Joseph Peter Staton (aka Staten) in the Confederate States Cavalry. He may have enlisted while living in Marshal County Kentucky. He lived on a farm in the area around Paducah, Kentucky. Any help in finding his Civil War service record would be greatly appreciated. I know that when he came back from the war he found his wife dead of exposure and his farm destroyed by Union forces; his children were taken in by the community.
