Sometimes they are confused as cavalry since for a time they were mounted, but they were not cavalry. From March 1864 to the end of the war the Third, Seventh and Eighth regiments of Kentucky Infantry, along with the Twelfth Kentucky Cavalry, were attached to Gen. Forrest command and became the Kentucky Brigade of Gen. Forrest's cavalry.

Born May 8, 1838 in Calloway County, KY; died January 8, 1928 in Calloway County, KY; buried Wyatt Cemetery, Calloway County, KY; brother-in-law of Willis J. Yandall, and first cousin of Charles N. & Tilford Crittenden Edwards, all of Co. G; son of William Alexander & Cynthia Jane (Ray) Edwards; husband of Priscilla Josephine (Yandell) Edwards & Sarah (Jones) Edwards.

Feezor, John Wilson: Pvt.; enlisted 4/27/64 at Benton, KY; on May/June 1864 Muster Roll listed as present; on Roll of POWs of Lee Hospital, Lauderdale, MS, CSA, commanded by Surgeon Henry Yandell, surrendered at Citronelle, AL 5/4/65 and paroled at Meridian, MS 5/13/65 as J. W. Feezor, residence Shelbyville, Bedford County, TN.
Born June 25, 1844 in Graves County, KY; died June 25, 1887 in Marshall County, KY; buried Feezor Cemetery, Marshall County, KY; son of George & Mary (Ivy) Feezor; husband of Susan (Binkley) Feezor; 1860 Mars. Co., KY, Census: bp. KY, age 14.

Born December 19, 1845 in Marshall County, KY; died September 29, 1925 in Marshall County, KY; buried Riley Cemetery, Marshall County, KY; son of John Randolph & Dorothy (Stringer) Short; husband of Malinda Catherine (Arant) Short.
