Thanks, Mark, for the reply. It gives a better idea of what was going on in those days. I believe most of the guys you mention were from the Flat Gap area of Johnson County. They were most likely friends with my greatgreatgrandfather Andrew Osborn as I have found on March 06, 1856 Andrew & his wife sold 75 acres to Wm. Estep for $200 on Mud Lick Creek. Witnesses were Abner Fairchild and James S. Patterson. Wm. Estep witnessed another of Andrew's land sales in 1859. It appears they were probably neighbors and friends.
