I have never seen any references to adding any infantry regiments to the proposed brigade. The composition of Gray's and Thomas' brigades was well established, so none of those units would have been pulled to add to Boggs'. It is unclear to me why Boggs did not mention this in his memoir. But then he omits other things as well. He and Kirby Smith had come to a parting of the ways, and forming a brigade for him was a way of getting him a command outside of department headquarters.
