Grandfather Joseph (J.A.C.) Pino, a member of Company A, a Cavalry Company of Miles Legion part of BG Wirt Adams Brigade was killed 6-7 Dec 1863 in operations in the vicinity of Natchez Ms. Adams Brigade may have been part of the 14th Confederate Cavalry at that time. From the O.R., Series 1, Volume 31, Part 1, pages 599-600 which is the battle report of Brig. Gen Wirt Adams of operations against Natchez on Dec. 6-7- 1863 there had been a skirmish between the union forces and the 11th Arkansas Regiment which was a part of Adams command in addition to the 14th Confederate Cavalry. I am wondering whether there is any information to confirm that Company A of Miles Legion was a part of this action. Muster rolls show that Joseph (J.A.C.) Pino was killed 6 December 1863. Dr. Bergeron has suggested that he perhaps was killed on 7 December? In any case is there any specific information that Company A, Miles Legion was a part of Wirt Adams Brigade or the 14 Confederate Cavalry.
Any help would be appreciated.
