John Russell wrote me that the service listed for J. M. Burrs was for a different man than James M. Burrus, Arminta Kimberlin's husband. There were 2 James M. Burrus' living near Blue Springs, Jackson Co., MO.
James M. Burrus, Sr., Arminta's husband, did not serve in the armies. When he was exiled by Order 11 he went to Boonville, MO from 1863-1865.
James M. Burrus, Jr., who doesn't seem to have been a son of James M. Burrus Sr., served in the MSG, then with Co. D, 12 MO Cav. with the Kimberlin brothers.
