Sam Kimberlin was active in setting up Confederate Veterans camps in Texas and Oklahoma in the 1890 - to the early 1900's before he went to CA before 1920. Augustus Staton is listed in the 1920 Heifer, Washita Co., OK census so they may have met there, too.
