Thanks Jay,

I have a complex family history going back to the Ozarks. I need to write the stories down so they aren't lost forever. My great (2) grandfather, Leonard Willis Wills, served in Company C, 3rd Missouri Cavalry and Sterling Price's Bodyguard. He may have been Indian as well, his wife was supposedly full-blooded Cherokee. After the war he settled in Arkansas.

Another great (2) grandfather (James Toles Keef, aka Keith) and a great (3) grandfather (Isaac Milum, aka Milam) were apparently Unionists in Arkansas who travelled north to join Company N, 73rd Enrolled Missouri Militia. According to family tradition they were Confederate "bushwhackers", but I recently found their Union Army enlistment paperwork on line. Quite a surprise to say the least!

I'm interested in unit histories for any of the above organizations. If you have any good sources or tips, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks again,

Kevin
